Abstract

Sexuality has been, in our western frame, regulated and prescribed around a unique model of exercising it. This is the orthodoxy, which has been conceived from the reproductive gaze and everything that derives from it. As part of the actors of the political system, the various elites have made use of power to articulate, have opened and expanded this orthodoxy. Confluencing Political Science with Sexology, we can manage to structure all the apexes of the system to confront with others from our professional practice, the biographical model.

Objectives: in that search of the impact of the orthodox system, the main objective was to make a breakdown of the same that allowed us to know in which areas there is more affection. In this way, it is possible to know its strengths and weaknesses in terms of its traditional character. All this with a view to future research, as it gives us a guide to check where other systems may have been affected, which will be analyzed according to those particular impacts.

Methodology: as a qualitative work, within our scope of action Basque-Navarre, has been visited 8 municipalities (2 per province) to carry out the techniques designed. These deal, in a linear succession, with autobiographical narrative, focus group and in-depth interview. Passing through the first two 5 different people from each municipality in terms of sex and age, applying to a single person the latest technique. Therefore, we have a sample of 40 people, 8 of whom, moreover, have been through the interview.

Results: we have found that the variable with the greatest impact is, prominently, coitocentrism. Then others with high impact have been reproduction and consumerism. Romantic love, homogenization, heteronormativity and androcentrism are less influential. All these are the variables in which we have divided the orthodox sexual system.

Discussion: the groups tend to a coital view of sexuality, coming, as we have seen, from the reproductive gaze. As we have shown in the theoretical framework, it is from this that the main consequences of the orthodox model are derived. Therefore, when it comes to intervening, the objective must be to work from that root and the transmission of the other reasons for being of the human sexual fact: communication and pleasure.

Conclusions: within the amalgam of systems that revolve around sexuality, our results seem to indicate where there is incidence of each. Thus, the power elite of the current orthodoxy, pornographic, becomes relevant given that through its model maintains with high incidence the variables it fosters. On the otherhand, the new models derived from feminism seem to have managed to lower the incidence, also, of the variables that wish to fight. We have for the future the joint analysis of both trends from sexology.
